![]() ![]() The book I chose to read in entirety was more on the supernatural side, which is my preferred fantasy - something that is grounded in the real world with supernatural or fantastical characters. Other authors I would recommend for clean teen reads include: Joan Bauer, Gail Carson Levine, Lois Lowry, Gordon Korman, Margaret Peterson Haddix, and Catherine Gilbert Murdock.Īdult fantasy was one of my chosen genres as well. A lot of her books are about strong, sassy females doing non-traditional things (like being an art thief) - probably not the most wholesome but they are fun books, well-written, and not too mature. The other book I sampled was "Heist Society" by Ally Carter. I'm sure plenty of teen girls would like it but I was pretty annoyed with it in the beginning and so wouldn't really put my personal stamp of approval on it. ![]() The characters in it are pretty bratty and there is a lot of relationship talk in it. ![]() One of the books I sampled was "Lucky" by Rachel Vail, and I decided I would probably not recommend this as a clean read. in them and sometimes it is a tough task to find things! The book I read was "Princess Academy" by Sharon Hale, and I think in general Hale is a good author to recommend for this sort of thing - well-written but on the cleaner/more wholesome side. One of my genres was clean reads for teens because we get parents in looking for books for their teens (usually younger teen girls) that don't have a lot of violence, sex, drugs, etc. ![]()
